McIlvaney Riley Land Surveying is a Vancouver Island based legal surveying company, located on the West Shore for over 25 years and practicing throughout the Greater Victoria area and the South Island.

Minda C. Riley, B.C.L.S. – Principal
Minda Riley is a graduate of the geomatics program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 2000 and began her career surveying for Translink’s Skytrain Millenium line before moving to Victoria. She was employed by Michael, who then became her mentor, ultimately receiving her commission as a B.C. land surveyor in 2006. Since then she has been an active member of the Association of BC Land Surveyors, serving and chairing on various committees and recently being elected to serve on the Board of Management of the Association. As a partner in the firm, Minda brings her experience as a land surveyor with her knowledge of GNSS technology, surveying software (COGO) and computer drafting software (CAD).
Joseph S. Hadley, B.C.L.S
Joe Hadley is a graduate of the geomatics program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 2001. He has been employed with McIlvaney Riley Land Surveying for more than 11 years, and is experienced in all facets of surveying including the use of GNSS technology. Joe received his commission as a B.C. land surveyor in 2013 and is actively serving on a committee for the Association of BC Land Surveyors. Joe brings his experience in field surveying combined with a proficiency in CAD work to projects of all scopes and sizes.
Michael J. McIlvaney, B.C.L.S. – Founder
Michael McIlvaney (semi-retired) has more than 30 years experience as a B.C. land surveyor first in the employ of B.C. Hydro and then as self-employed surveyor in Vancouver and Victoria’s West Shore. His experience ranges from surveying large scale Hydro R/W’s (200 km) throughout B.C., to surveying of smaller private and crown holdings in the Greater Vancouver and Victoria areas. Michael has maintained a land survey office in the (Victoria) West Shore for more than 20 years and has acquired a thorough working knowledge of the local cadastral system and of local government requirements and staff. Michael brings his legal survey and supervisory expertise, as well as his experience of working on large legal survey jobs to our projects.
